The feature focused on American Wildlands' award ceremony held at the Emerson, with Jim Lynch the director of the Montana Department of Transportation as emcee, to recognize the winners and runners-up of the contest.

Over 265 students from 18 schools in Park and Gallatin counties submitted drawings to our art contest depicting safer passages for both people and wildlife on the Bozeman Pass stretch of Interstate 90.

Congressman Rehberg and Senator Baucus of Montana helped select the six winning designs to be displayed in local businesses throughout Bozeman, Livingston and Belgrade. As well, we will incorporate the artwork on billboards along Bozeman Pass.

The art contest was part of American Wildlands' highway Safe Passages program to build public awareness around the ecological, economic and human safety benefits in reducing wildlife-vehicle collisions on Bozeman Pass.
